“Found this place yesterday, incredible food with a great selection to choose from. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff with good wine selection. Treated like one of the family. Could not recommend this restaurant highly enough. Amazing dinner for 2 with drinks and coffee for under £35!!! Would have paid twice that.”
”I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant. The food was delicious and very good value for money. The owner was really friendly and encouraged us to take our time and enjoy a relaxing evening. I can honestly say that I was a bit dubious about trying this as I had only tried the Tapas chains before but the evening exceeded my expectations and I will definitely go back again. ”As we spend a lot of time in Spain every year it is great to be able to come to this wonderful little tapas bar and have some of our favourite tapas dishes. The food is great quality and always fresh and well presented, infact the tapas here is as good if not better than we have eaten in some tapas bars in Spain! ”had my 6th visit here last week and still find the food brilliant,just like my hols on the costas and Ive found some great tapas there. this place is brill too and the owners make you feel real welcome, oh by the way the long haired yob in the kitchen is a girl not a guy and she puts a lot of passion into what she does, not spanish?? so what nor are most chef’s in many other places. I decided to have the Albondigas to see what the fuss is about(1st review made me look) these are crackin and if you ask Ian the co owner he will tell you how much time he spends on making them and so to the GAMBAS PIL PIL, i asked for pri pri but since these are more relevant to who knows where,certainly not spain i got exactly what i wanted , king prawns done in a lite oil with a pleasant taste of the chilli which for me was just hot enough. this place will certainly see me back again,time and again..try it its fantastic,and if its as busy next time as it was when i called the athmosphere was great. ”
“ We have visited this restuarant on many occasions. The staff are extremly friendly and welcoming and the food is of the highest quality. The prawns and the chicken in garlic are amongst the best dishes i have tasted but the menu is so full of great food that we regularly take forever to decide our meals but are never disapointed. I would happily put my name to this place and suggest that everyone ignores the first rediculous review and gives La Esquina a go, you will not be disapointed and will go back time and time again. ” Andy.

“I found your restaurant whilst doing a Google search for places to eat in Southampton. My daughter and I were coming across for a girlie weekend and wanted something a little different so we chose your restaurant and we most definitely were not disappointed.
The first thing we noticed was the warm welcome. We were given the menu and it states quite clearly that you probably do not need more than 3 items per person so suggests you order 3 and can always order more as the evening goes by. How unusual is that to tell people not to order too much! The menu was lovely and we had great difficulty in choosing, because we wanted every dish! When the dishes came they were all wonderful. We started with olives, then went on to cold dishes and finally finished with the hot ones. Everything was beautifully presented and the hot dishes had obviously just minutes before been cooked as they were hot, succulent and so tasty. We really, really wanted to try more dishes but just could not find the room and simply ended the evening with coffee.
The staff were so welcoming and attentive but without hurrying you and the whole evening was simply perfect.
The next time we are in Southampton we definitely know where we are eating!
